Yli-Mäyry uses colours in three different ways: as thin layers, as thick slashes and by scratching already painted surfaces to make the piece seem three-dimensional. The main theme in Yli-Mäyry’s paintings is humanity and the fact that urban people are estranged from the nature. Yli-Mäyry has over 300 art exhibitions in various art galleries and museums in over 30 country. The artist has founded an artfoundation Soile Yli-Mäyry.
